We Have Something In Common, Akpabio Tells Davido

President Bola Tinubu’s government has something in common with the Nigerian music industry - both cater for Nigerians across party lines! That was the message of the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio to Davido, the Afrobeat Star, who paid him a courtesy visit on May 19, 2024. Akpabio told the music star, whose real name is David Adedeji Adeleke: "For me and for the government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, its an inclusive administration, and you must have noticed in my various outings, we move as one, across party lines. "Even though your administration is a PDP one but we work across party lines for the interest of Nigeria. The only major thing that is common to all of us is the interest of this country and it is a country that has given you so much love”. While advising Davido to avoid being dragged into politics, he promised that the lawmakers will do everything possible to support the talent industry. "Please do your best to continue to maintain the high e...

A LADY WHO MARRIED HERSELF ACCUSED OF CHEATING!

A young lady who married herself last year in my village has been accused of cheating!

After waiting endlessly for a suitor,

Miss Ama Idem Ikpong, married herself in October, 2023, at a solemn but solitary ceremony that cost a “whopping” N1,500.

Before the glamorous wedding, which she planned alone, Miss Ama Idem Ikpong was often seen taking herself out to eateries, sit-outs, clubs, etc, always in company of herself.

However, at a point in the relationship, she stopped frequent public outings and drinking and later told one reporter that she loved spending  “a lot of quality time” with herself.

In an interview after the wedding, Miss Ikpong reportedly said: “Why can't I marry myself?” Na your body? As an independent lady, feminist and influencer, I decided to organise my wedding to show young ladies that they don’t need any man to survive”.

She said she had the support of her family as her five year-old brother, Etuk Ikpong,  gladly accepted the N500 bride price. The brother was also there when Miss Ikpong walked down the aisle in her room and took the vows in front of her mirror. Her parents had no idea of the ceremony!

Although, badbelle pipo claimed then that there was no room for sologamy in Nigeria, the wedding faced no threat from EFCC as there was nobody to deface the naira by “spraying” money on the bride.

Recently, however, a blogger (name withheld) accused Miss Ikpong of cheating on herself. The social media “digital creator” supported his claim with pictures of Miss Ikpong allegedly on a date with a young man, at one eatery in Uyo.

“Why is she with a man, when she said she could survive without a man?”queried the blogger.

But in a sharp response, Miss Ikpong denied the allegation, insisting that as an influencer, she will continue to inspire young women “to keep loving themselves”.

She said the young man she was spotted with merely helped her to move the tray of ice cream and burger from the counter to the sitting area.

But another netizen shot back: "Why ask a man to help you in any way, when  you said you were an independent lady? Isn't that cheating?"

My Dogs Had Emergency Meeting Over Dstv!

My dogs had an emergency meeting, yesterday. All five of them, with Spike, the alfa male, presiding. I had no inkling of the planned meeting, prior. But the unusual silence in the compound made me alert and suspicious. From my room, the moment I sighted them in an unusual posture, I knew something was amiss. As I tiptoed near the conclave, I overheard one of them, a spritely male puppy, suggesting a revolt. “If they can't increase our daily rations, we all must stop barking,” he said. Bloody idiot from a polygamous cage! I quickly thought of calling the police for them. But I remembered that with the way things are in this ‘kwantery’ now, the complainant might easily become the accused! My first fear: the police might have asked me to explain how I have been able to feed five dogs in this Tinubu’s economy, when they can't keep spy dogs anymore. Even the EFCC may have suspected that Yahaya Bello gave me some of the billions he has been accused of siphoning. Chai! As I was strugg...

Want Peaceful Marriage? Then, Buy TV Without Remote

Here’s a candid expo to young men about to get married. Okay, those who have just married can also benefit from it. Free of charge! Like one dubious mechanic would say, I won’t charge o. Just remember to ask for my account details, later. Here it goes: “The secret to a good marriage is to be a little deaf!" If you doubt me, ask Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Add dumb and blind, as well, if you may! Oh, relax, young man! This is not meant to scare you.  Marriage is actually enjoyable. There are some immense benefits for you too, as a man. For instance, you stand a better chance of taking new pictures in starched attires every Sunday, after service.  That is, if you are a Christian. And, trust me, you can now use the toilet and leave it for her to flush, especially if she calls you “baby”! In fact, you are even guaranteed a free smiling session in each snap.  Rest assured that your wife will be on hand to remind you to “smile” so you don't spoil her picture. Even if you aren't the ch...
